Music of The Pumpkin Man
Music has always been a critical part of John Everson's creative writing process. Every novel has had its own particular soundtrack. For a large part of the writing of The Pumpkin Man, John kept an early morning (before work at the dayjob) writing schedule, and played French dark techno duo La Floa Maldita while sipping the morning coffee against the grey of dawn in the office window. The Cure's Bloodflowers and New Order's Power, Corruption & Lies CDs also offered a key element of moody darkness for the creation of the novel.
Here are a couple of the tracks that played into the writing of The Pumpkin Man, along with a track from New Years Day, a band that John recently discovered and partnered with to provide the soundtrack for this site. Check out their amazing EP, The Mechanical Heart, and visit them on Facebook.
